One of our specialties is restoring historic homes in Lancaster city. The Old-World style blends seamlessly with our craftmanship. In this townhouse, we demoed down to the studs and reconfigured the layout to utilize every inch of space. The staircase was relocated to create an open layout on the 1st floor. Behind the kitchen, a new mud/laundry room was built exiting to an inviting backyard. On the 3rd floor, a dormer was added to maximum head space in the new bathroom. For optimal energy efficiency, all walls were fully insulated, new windows were installed and a two-zone HVAC system was added. The end result was a 20th century home with all the comfort of modern conveniences.
At Evergreen Custom Carpentry, we go the extra mile to incorporate original features in a home to match the new. The staircase’s handrail, spindles and treads complimented the pine softwood floors; as well as, the kitchen’s black cabinetry, concrete countertops, and pine range hood. The retro bathroom tile floor located in each bathroom coordinated well with the fixtures and tile tub surround. We built custom barnwood doors into the bathroom and closet in the master bedroom. An 8-foot mahogany front door completed this whole house renovation with a touch of grandeur to welcome the homeowner and their guests.
